The Accounts Receivable Supervisor is a key role in the Waste Management Service Center.  In this role you will use your AR experience, business coordination skills and your leadership experience to drive continuous improvement and excellence.  Your experience with evaluation of billings, data entry and cash receipts is pivotal as you will be leading a team to action these areas.
 
The Accounts Receivable Supervisor is located in Houston, TX and reports to the Director, Accounting. 

I. Job Summary
The WMSC Accounts Receivable Supervisor will manage associates and execute processes to ensure accounts receivable transactions are processed in an accurate and timely manner.  In this role you will use your AR experience, business coordination skills and your leadership experience to drive continuous improvement and excellence.  Your experience with evaluation of billings, data entry and cash receipts is pivotal as you will be leading a team to action these areas.
 
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
- Supervise team that verifies and applies payment transactions, such as lockbox, EFT, online and WM.com payments and adjustments.
- Identifies and ensures adjustments and refunds are researched and recorded timely.
 - Assists team with identifing payments using cash applications decision logic procedure, and MAS searches, utilizing data provided by the customer on checks, EFTs, WM.com and third-party onlines to ensure payments are posted to the proper customers’ accounts.
 - Utilizes imaging system to view check detail and post transactions to proper customer accounts.
- Ensures team meets Service Level Agreement (all transactions researched and attempted to be processed daily).
- Participates in a team environment interacting and providing innovative suggestions to reduce transaction (payment and adjustment) exceptions and unapplied or misapplied  payments.
- Ensures researchers contact Business Units and customers by phone and/or email to obtain proper payment posting instructions, and post payments timely and accurately to meet the Service Level Agreement (all transactions called on, emailed and attempted to post daily).
- Utilizes Remedy (Issue tracking software) to capture work in progress and trend customer data.
- Executes AS400 searches/queries to determine proper payment and adjustment posting.
- TRUX software experience, helpful
- Reports any issues associated with the processing of payments by the outsourced service providers (banks and merchants).
- Assists with ppreparing metric reports in a timely and accurate manner; and completes individual analytical projects successfully.
- Assists with transactions that are eligible for escheatment.
- Promotes a positive and fun team environment.
- Demonstrates positive and professional oral and written communications skills.
 
III. Supervisory Responsibilities
This job will supervise 8-10 employees.
 
IV. Qualifications
A. Education and Experience
Education: Associate’s Degree (accredited) in Accounting, Business Administration or similar area of study preferred. High School Diploma or GED (accredited) with relevant work experience, accepted.
Experience: 4-5 years of relevant work experience
 
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
None required.
 
C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
None required.
